This was great to read. I am experiencing the new moon in my first house, and I have been on a juicing cleanse the last 2 days to prepare for the new moon. Yesterday I taught yoga, and I felt like I was working from that new place of confidence...pretty exciting. THANK YOU LOVE!

HI...I love your site and your overall understanding of astrology. Just one suggestion...the 8th house description for transits could use some updating. As it is now, the explanations for this house just say "it is multi-faceted and multi-layered" and don't say much more than that as afar as planet influences. The other houses have such great explanations. Why is the 8th house kind of left out?

Hi NancyNancy, Welcome to the wonderful world of astrology :) If you look at my chart http://www.astrogrrl.com/2009/05/my-birth-chart.html , you'll see that my Gemini Midheaven begins very late at 26deg13mins. With the New Moon at 22deg, the New Moon falls in my 9th house and conjunct both my Merc (with a 1deg orb) and my Midheaven (with a 4deg orb). The list of risings presumes that the house cusps begins at zero degree of that sign. Hence the note: "*Does not account for intercepted birth charts or house cusps decanate placements" above.

I'm a newbie and learning as I go. In the "New Moon in Gemini" post, you noted that the New Moon falls in your natal 9th house. But then in the chart showing the placement of Gemini in Sun and Rising signs, it states that a Virgo Rising has Gemini in the 10th house. So how/why is your Virgo Rising different? I'm confused! Thanks for any help in trying to understand this.

So, this new moon is a like power day for you and the energy extends to throughout the entire new moon phase (about 2 weeks). It will activate the existing alignments to your natal Moon. So, it's a familiar feeling. There might be a sense of urgency or extra importance as the new moon touches upon your natal planets. It's like, reading a passage in a book that's written in bold and in all caps, and you've had this book all your life so, you're used to seeing and understanding the meaning and weight of the passage. Then one day, someone comes along and highlights the entire passage with a bright, yellow highlighter...as if being written in bold and in all caps weren't enough to convey the message or its importance. The new moon is that yellow highlighter :)

As an added bonus :) on the day of the new moon, Merc will return to 3deg in Taurus which will conjunct your natal Saturn. There might be something specific that occurred or reminiscent to on or around April 4 that may require closure or might just be revisited for another look.

If you are looking into changing careers or beginning one (not to be confused with a 'job'), this new moon is a good time to look more deeply into that. This could also be about an important relationship or finances -- making some tough decisions about it. The events surrounding early April may be something separate that needs your attention or it could be related what the new moon's conjunction to your natal moon, square your mars & oppose your venus will reveal. A conjunction to your natal Moon makes this a very personal new moon phase for you -- matters of the heart kind of stuff ... not necessarily emotional, it could be goals or deep desires. With the 3rd house involved, thinking things through and communicating your conclusions are key to making the most of this new moon energy.

You should consider doing new moon wishes during this new moon in Taurus.

This new moon at 23d Taurus will conjunct my natal Moon at 24d Taurus in my 3rd house. My natal Moon is square my Mars in Aqua (rising) and opposite my natal Venus in Scorpio (10th house). Any ideas how this may play out? My natal Saturn is also at 4d Taurus in the 3rd house but my natal Moon is conjunct my IC.

Hi J.J., The upcoming Aries-New Moon is at 25 degrees so, this new moon falls in your natal 7th house of partnerships and solar 10th house of career and future goals. The new moon will also oppose (require balance with) your Libra-Ascendant so, remind yourself that it's ok to be a little more selfish and a little less accommodating, especially if putting yourself first is good for you -- mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc.

Reading horoscopes for the following sign is usually a method used to achieve more accuracy in the absence of knowing the actual degrees of birth chart sun or rising signs. Since you know that your rising is at 22 degrees of Libra, we can firmly place the new moon in your 7th house.

As far as the health issues, new moons represent renewals. Yes, the transiting Sun continue to blend energies with your Moon as I type :) & remain influential for another couple of days.

Transiting Uranus will be combining energies with your Moon until well into the end of the month, then will revisit your Moon from November 2010 to January 2011. The Uranus transit may have you feeling the need for independence, breaking out and doing something on your own. This happens in your 10th house so your personal goals and/or professional pursuits may be changing. There's a restlessness in your heart. But there is time to figure to things out. Since this is happening in the sign of Pisces, some quiet time/solitude may be necessary to really figure out what it is you truly want if this is something that is foggy to you.

This New Moon may be the trigger that stimulates your heart (natal Moon), giving it an awakening (Uranus).
